Job Summary: The Network Losses,
Planning and Design Manager will be responsible for planning and designing
safe, reliable and cost effective electricity distribution networks that
reflect minimal technical loss profiles



Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Medium and long term network
    investment master planning
  • Planning and designing
    major commercial schemes
  • Drawing short term
    network improvement plans
  • Designing network
    solutions that deliver the optimum in terms of Technical losses
  • Annual capital investment
    programs development
  • Development and
    maintenance of planning and design standards across the organisation
  • Planning organisation and
    staff development
  • Develop and maintain
    systems and processes to support the effective and efficient delivery of
    distribution plans
  • Contribute to Umeme
    business strategy development

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The candidate should hold
    a degree in Electrical Engineering along with 7 (Seven) years experience
    in industry
  • Proficiency in the use of
    system planning software and applications along with experience in master
    planning
  • Ability to construe complex
    and multi faceted, systems, business and customer needs and demands into meaningful
    and viable proposals.
  • Capacity to lead Planners
    and organization towards optimum planning and design outcomes.
