About URA:
The Uganda Revenue
Authority (URA) was established by the Uganda Revenue Authority Statute of 1991
and set up in September of the same year as a central body for assessment and
collection of specified revenue, to administer and enforce the laws relating to
such revenue and to provide for related matters. This statute incorporated all
the laws that were in force then regarding tax collection. The new organization
(URA) amalgamated the three tax administration departments that were
responsible for all the taxes collected by the Central Government of Uganda.
Job Summary:   The Officer
Board Affairs and Policy Rulings will give legal advice to both internal and
external stakeholders, draft contracts/agreements and participate in the
amendment of URA policies and tax laws in order to streamline the flow of the
URA business.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The
applicants for the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Officer Board Affairs and
Policy Rulings job opportunities should hold honors Degrees in Law from a recognized
University
·        
Post
Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
·        
At least
two years of experience in handling litigation in a large organization or busy
law firm.
·        
Knowledge
and Experience in 
Drafting
Contracts and Agreements
·        
Experience
in providing legal advice
·        
General
understanding of the applicable laws in Uganda
·        
Knowledge
of the legal dynamics in Uganda
·        
Ability
to interpret tax laws, including mediation and expertise in policy making
·        
Self-motivation
with ability to draft advocacy policies and offer advice on general tax laws;
and regulatory analysis/compliance with tax laws
·        
Excellent
English communicator in both written and verbal skill
·        
Skilled
legal researcher with ability to use computer-based and non-computer based
legal, technical, and scientific research
·        
Possession
of strong negotiation and networking skills
