Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Actuarial Services to UAPOM Uganda by working closely with other Actuarial resources in the group.
  • Analyse business needs and drive the implementation of solutions in assigned areas of responsibility that enhances operational efficiency and support business/ product growth
  • Assist in data collection, querying, cleaning and analysis for purposes of carrying out actuarial valuations/investigations
  • Assist in building of Actuarial models to solve varying and emerging business problems
  • Preparation of Actuarial business performance reports
  • Assist in writing reports/Preparing presentations on the results of analysis/research conducted
  • Provide product Development support-assist with designing, pricing, profit testing and documentation
  • Assist in carrying out market research on products/industry developments for strategic decision Making Purposes
  • Undertake any other duties as required commensurate with the level of the position
  • Carries out technical actuarial work, often using complex systems and packages.
  • Checks, manipulates and analyses volumes of data and draws conclusions from the analyses.
  • Responsible for technical accuracy and implementation of work.
  • Translates actuarial concepts into client – friendly terminology.
  • Assist in data collection, querying, cleaning and analysis for purposes of carrying out actuarial valuations/investigations
  • Prepare monthly reports for ongoing clients
  • Checks manipulates and analyses volumes of data and draws conclusions from the analyses
  • Experience investigations- assist with carrying out persistency, expense, mortality investigations of individual and Group Business




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science
