Job Summary:  The OHSE Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations regarding implementation of HSE regulations, policies, procedures, and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety and Environmental Management system by providing technical support. To ensure implementation of HSE regulations, plans, programs, procedures and drafting policies aimed in line with the company objectives. To ensure all legal requirements are fulfilled on time as per laws.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute all assigned autonomous maintenance of equipment’s & your work place (Asset care @ Source)
  • Uphold work area cleanliness at all times Cleaning is the responsibility of all employees and should not be the sole responsibility of “Cleaners”. Each person is responsible for the cleanliness of their own work area. (Cleaning @ Source)
  • Promote & abide by food safety and quality guidelines. (Not allowed to work in any area unless trained in safety and food safety Requirements.
  • Prioritize Occupational health & Safety and environment standards in adherence to company policies & procedures.
  • Ensure and promote HSE awareness across the factory.
  • Conduct safety induction program for new employees and visitors on OHSE aspect.
  • Enforce PPE usage by all the company staff.
  • Involvement in root cause analysis and implementation and to Enforce adherence to established control
  • Compliance to Legislations and Regulation guidelines on best practices.
  • Conduct, review and update risk assessment both onsite and offsite.
  • Grant work permit to sub- contractors, in house team accomplishing risky operations to conduct fire drill.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections and to ensure proper tracking on achievements of set objectives.
  • Issue Personal Protective Equipment, train and replace those that are worn out, plan and conduct training on their usage and care.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement effective HSE Policies, guidelines and procedures in line with company goals and objectives
  • Ensuring all staff and visitors observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourage safety working practices. Correct obvious hazards immediately or report them to the senior management.
  • Ensure that the factory has proper risk emergency plans in place and are implemented.
  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support & control

Health, Safety and Environmental Management.

  • Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation.
  • To ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive
  • (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry.
  • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis. Reporting/CA of the same.
  • Observe HSE regulations, ensures safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
  • Conduct HSE Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
  • Write, implement, and manage HSE Programs, Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform HSE Inspections to the different company location and the construction site.
  • Have knowledge and enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements, including company HSE policies and procedures.
  • Oversee Behavior Based / Observation Safety Programs along with developing Job Hazard analysis.
  • Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs. To ensure company always on track as per iso140001 and 45000.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as required as assigned.





Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline OR certified HSE professional / NEBOSH
  • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment
  • Should be well versed on relevant local and international standards related to products and services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Trained on ISO14000/45001.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving ability.
  • Adapt quickly to unfamiliar situations. Embrace continuous learning mentality.
  • Team player and strong in training/coaching.
