to the Central Bank’s regulations and guidelines and was founded in 1994 to
provide quality microfinance services.
Job Summary: The
Manager IT Services will be tasked with administering the controls, tables, and
accessing authority to the business users of the local business systems
deployed. The incumbent will be providing end user training and support and
lead the testing and implementation of new business system releases provided by
vendors or internal developers. The jobholder will also be supporting the Head
of ICT in running the IT department for quality and efficient service delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Business System
Services
  • Assists the IT Manager in Implementing IT, service delivery
    standards, policies and procedures to support the corporate business plan,
    business operations and support functions. 
  • Planning, developing and implementing the ICT applications to ensure
    cost effectiveness
  • Assigns and updates business system user security profiles.
  • Provides ongoing support of end users through troubleshooting and
    problem solving.
  • Trains end users utilising the business system when new releases of
    the software are installed.
  • Leads the implementation and testing procedures to ensure that newly
    released software produces the expected results for the business operations.
  • Develops job aids to assist end users in effective system
    utilisation.
  • Reviews key reports produced by the system to ensure accurate system
    operations.
  • Establishes business system backup, recover and data retention
    criteria.
  • Guides System Administrators in the deployment of new hardware and
    software technology.
  • Ensures that the MIS systems are in working condition at all times.
  • Relates with software system contractors and suppliers to resolve
    complex technical problems

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the UGAFODE Manager IT Services job must
    possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a reputable
    university or college.
  • Oracle Database certification will be an added advantage
  • Proven experience in administration of Oracle and SQL Database management systems
  • Knowledge of Business Administration
  • IT and MIS Experience and Training
  • One to three years of experience in microfinance or banking computer
    systems and micro credit business knowledge
  • Experience in microfinance business processes
  • Ability to execute a portfolio management system, Microsoft Office
    Suite and other software that is critical to the business operations
  • Banking Compliance Regulations and Legal Legislation
  • Knowledge of related statutory IT compliance regulations, IT and MIS
    banking policies, procedures and systems, and lending, banking and
    transformation products policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Energetic and ability to be active throughout and willingness to
    learn
  • High level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills and high level of customer care
  • Willing to work long hours with minimum supervision
