Job title: Asset Protection Manager
Reports to: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Job Purpose: To provide leadership in the development and delivery of the in country Asset Protection strategy and take the lead in implementation of Asset Protection (AP) standards, in particular the development and implementation of Crisis and Emergency Management systems, Business Continuity Planning and Operational security.

Main Accountabilities:

·         Responsible for planning and execution of security strategies to protect people, assets, operations and projects within Uganda.
·         Early detection and reporting of actual and potential threats to ensure awareness of emerging risks are established and managed.
·         Develop and maintain Asset Protection risk assessments.
·         Develop and deliver security policy, planning and asset protection risk management programme, as well as engineering security design and technology.
·         Manage, mentor and coach the Asset Protection team as well as deliver the nationalization and succession plan.
·         Management of the Security Contract.
·         Oversight and implementation of the Crisis Emergency Management (CEM) Programme.
·         Develop and train CEM teams to ensure emergency response preparedness.
·         Business continuity planning and preparedness.
·         Oversight of travel security management.
·         Management of formal and informal networks of information sources, contacts and liaison with private and governmental agencies to support early detection of threats to Tullow interests.
·         Management oversight of investigations into security breaches, incidents or loss of assets.
Qualifications:
·         Graduate Level Education in Security Risk Management, International Relations, Politics or equivalent.
Experience:
·         Minimum of 10 years’ Asset Protection management experience in the Exploration and Production industry or similar role.
·         Experience in managing security risk operations in developing countries or high risk environments in public or private sector organisations.
·         Experience at senior business level security and political risk management in private sector.
·         Remote site experience.
Preferred
African and East African experience.

Knowledge and Skills:
Essential
Sound understanding of Global Human Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Knowledge of security and political risk environment in East Africa.
Security engineering design and technology – protection of information, structures and installations.
Risk assessment methodology.
Experienced in Crisis Management planning, organisation and training.
Familiar with the implementation of emergency response and business continuity plans.
Adept in threat and risk analysis to business as well as Business Continuity Planning.
