About UNMU:
Our Client, Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union, (UNMU) was established
and registered in 2003 to represent the Nurses and Midwives in Uganda. It is
both a professional body as well as a labor organization. As a professional
organization, UNMU focuses on ensuring that the profession is practiced at the
highest possible standard. As a labor organization, UNMU spearheads efforts
geared toward improving the socio-economic welfare of Nurses and Midwives in
the country as a whole.
Job Summary: The Project Officer will
primarily support project activities ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in
implementation of the project so as to achieve the highest possible outcomes
within the projected timelines in order to maximize the positive impact on all
stakeholders assuming accountability for programs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • A University Degree in Nursing /or Midwifery
    or a related discipline.
  • Five years’ work experience in a related
    function and at least 2 years at managerial level.
  • The ideal candidate should have project
    management experience; team management;
  • Ability to communicate effectively to
    stimulate participation; Strong interpersonal skills, Results-driven;
    Project management skills; Ability to work independently and take
    initiative; Good reporting skills in English and fluency in diverse local
    languages.
