than 100 million children around the world.


About Project:
Save the Children seeks applications from suitably qualified and
experienced individuals for an upcoming project that will strengthen and
improve the quality and availability of services in public health facilitIes in
select provinces within Uganda. The proposed positions are contingent on Save
the Children being awarded the Cooperative agreement for this five year USAID-funded
project Uganda Advocacy for Better Health .

Job Summary: The Chief of Party
will give strategic leadership and oversight to the project S/he shall have
depth and breadth of technical expertise and experience, a solid professional
reputation, interpersonal skills and professional relationships In fulfill the
requirements of the program description
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should possess a Masters’
    degree or higher and a minimum of 10 years of experience in development
    working with local governments, civil society and communities, –
  • Experience interacting with host country
    government agencies including local governments, development partners, and
    civil society organizations including community based organizations is
    essential.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge
    of decentralization in the Uganda context, Uganda’s sociopolitical
    economy, advocacy, health and education sectors;
  • Demonstrated team player with visionary
    leadership;
  • Excellent managerial and operational
    experience, preferably In managing large donor projects involving
    coordination with multiple program partners or institutions in Uganda or
    the region;
  • Past workingexperience of working with USG
    supported projects and knowledge of financial rules and regulations at a
    senior level is an advantage;
  •  Experience in developing program
    work-plans, budgets, managing implementation, stay and short-term
    technical assistance.
