Job Summary: The Project
Officer – Education ABER-K will actively contribute to achieving retention of
out of school girls in school through planning, monitoring and implementation
of ABER-K activities in line with project design and donor requirements and
supporting the role out of best practices and models in a manner that support
ownership and suitability.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
Project planning and implementation:
·        
Plan and coordinate all district based
activities in consultation with the project coordinator.
·        
The jobholder will supervise and monitor all
school based activities.
·        
Ensure quality in rolling out of education
project models ensuring sufficient funds allocated to particular activities in
annual plans.
·        
Ensure that teachers and field facilitators are
supported in breaking down model into simpler work breakdown structures for
easy implementation.
·        
Keenly track and manage activity budgets and
ensure timely and cost effective project implementation.
·        
Prepare timely accurate complaint and quality
reports.
·        
Actively participate in project management
meetings and reflection meeting and reflection forums.
·        
Support and participate in district education
advocacy initiatives.
·        
Ensure cross cutting themes are mainstreamed in
education project.
Technical support and training:
·        
Formulate a district capacity building plan and
mobilize participants for capacity building in supporting enrollment, retention
and completion.
·        
Providing mentoring and coaching to teachers and
district staff to build local capacity.
·        
Identify technical experts to train district and
community groups.
·        
Work closely with project coordinator for
technical support on capacity building
Partnership and networking:
·        
Tasked with the mobilization of teachers and
parents for project activities.
·        
Participate and represent world vision Uganda in
key technical working forums at district.
·        
Point of contact for consultation on issues to
do with project education programming in the district.
·        
Conduct advocacy campaign for education in
general and girl child education in particular.
Documentation and reporting:
·        
Carry out mapping and peer group mapping in
preparation for project activities.
·        
Effectively documents all information related to
girl child enrollment trend in targeted school.
·        
Responsible for capturing individual children
attendance, performance and behaviors indicators related to drop out of
children.
·        
Documents good practices and project success
stories and share them.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The ideal candidate for the World Vision Project
Officer – Education ABER-K job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
education, social science or any related discipline.
·        
At least two years’ experience in education programming,
experience supporting girl child education.
·        
Previous experience at working with pastoralists
communities is desirable.
·        
Good training, facilitation and coordination
skills.
·        
Excellent monitoring, documentation and
evaluation skills.
·        
Experience in working with teachers and school
management committee.
·        
Willingness to stay up country
·        
Hold a clean and valid ridding permit and be
able to ride a motor cycle.
