About US:

Kampala Capital City Authority is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament that is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  The incumbent will be responsible to the Deputy Director Roads and Drainage for performing the following duties:-

  • Reviewing and monitoring the implementation of roads, drainages and bridges construction, street lights management and maintenance policies and procedures as per the Authority mandate;
  • Developing and implementing KCCA roads, drainages, bridges and streetlights construction and maintenance plan as per the Authority mandate;
  • Providing technical guidance to the Authority and general public on matters pertaining to roads, drainages, bridges and streetlights construction and maintenance as per the Directorate objectives;
  • Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of approved roads, drainages, bridges and streetlights plans in the Authority;
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the Authority Roads, drainages, bridges and streetlights programmes and advising management accordingly in line with the Departmental objectives;
  • Managing performance and developing of staff under your direct supervision in line with identified needs and HR Policy;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; or Construction Management from a recognized University /Institution plus a Master’s Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University /Institution. In the case of Engineers, applicants should have valid registration with the Uganda Engineers Registration Board (UERB). Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in the relevant course will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of seven (07) years working experience in a construction or related organization, three (03) of which should have been gained at Principal or Middle Management level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
  • Maximum Age: 50 years
