Job Summary:  The Accountant – TEAU/NCU Project Accountant Finance will manage and improve on the accounting functions of TEA and NCU in order to enhance contributions from the sections. The jobholder will be ensuring timely billing and reporting.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives courier sales books and retains the accounts copies of cash sales and waybills
  • Verifies the rates used as per rate card
  • Process the Waybills for purposes of invoicing
  • Review courier daily report and reconcile SAP with courier revenue report
  • Billing i.e. commercial printing, courier credit client’s revenue, TEAU Circulation and Advertising revenue
  • Review commission for courier sales representatives, NCU Agents and TEAU business executives
  • Prepare monthly reports which include; Cost Centre analysis for TEAU/NCU, Management accounts- TEAU/NCU As per NMG timetable, Mileage /transport report and Vehicle performance report
  • PWC audit- coordinate PWC audit for TEAU/NCU and preparation of Financial Statements
  • Prepare Business analysis reports for prospective courier clients
  • Assist in debt collection for both TEAU & Courier
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for both MPL and ABUL Undertake reconciliation of the Debtors Accounts in NCU
  • Undertake Field visits to sort out disputable amounts, and where necessary, recommend Credit Notes
  • Allocate unapplied amounts in Debtors Accounts
  • Receipt TEAU Efts to News cycle

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a University Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting and Finance or any other related field from an accredited institution
  • Professional qualifications in Accountancy e.g. ACCA, CPA would be added advantage.
  • At least three years of working experience in Finance and Accounting, preferably in a similar role in an FMCG company.
  • Knowledge of an Accounting package
  • High standards of Integrity
  • Analytical, enquiring mind
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willingness to work long hours
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with tight time constraints
  • Good communication skills oral and written
