About US:

The Makerere University School of Public Health Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Support (Mak SPH-METS) Program is a five-year (2020-2025) CDC-funded Cooperative Agreement. The MakSPH-METS program emerged out of the growing recognition of the importance of evidence-based decision making for an AIDS Free Generation in Uganda. The overall purpose of the Program is to establish coordinated and effective national and district systems for the management of strategic information for a robust HIV response.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transport Program staff and visitors within the country as instructed
  • Always ensure safety of passengers and cargo
  • Ensure maximum safety and security of vehicle and accessories under his/her charge
  • Monitor condition of vehicle and promptly report the condition to superiors
  • Promptly deliver mail, equipment, and supplies
  • Maintain records in delivery book
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records of all trips, fuel fill ups, time and mileage readings
  • Report any accident the vehicle gets involved into the supervisor and police as required
  • Carry out any other duties assigned from time to time





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold an Ordinary Level Certificate of Education
  • Possession of a Valid Driving Permit with relevant classes (A, B, E)
  • Training in defensive driving
  • Motor vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Four years of experience as a Driver in a reputable organization
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Basic technical knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics
  • Traffic laws, rules, and road signs
