The Infectious
Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a
partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall
objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on
Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five
operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention,
Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided
through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins University
Core Lab) and Outreach.
Job Summary:  The Volunteer Data Clerk will be required to
scrutinize all data collected in preparation for data capture, and enter data
into the appropriate software.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provides clerical and data management assistance;
  • Assist in inputting of clerical data using processing system;
  • Maintain data for input into the data processing system;
  • Review data for accuracy and completeness, identifying errors;
  • Participate in analysis and interpretation of data collection;
  • Ensure proper data in both soft and hard copies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) Volunteer
    Data Clerk job must hold a Degree/ Diploma in any data related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in electronics data entry.
  • Knowledge of Uganda EMR will be an added addition. 
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Accuracy skill.
  • Ability for team work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Superb organisational skills, including the ability to manage
    multiple sites simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills; excellent written and oral
    English.
  • Advanced analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS related issues.
  • Ability to work in a team but also work independently.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule assignments.
  • Ability to team work.
