Job Summary:  The Health Coordinator will contribute to
proper projects documentation, coordinating trainings and report writing,
budget and output monitoring, organising review meetings, coordinating health
studies and supporting the National Programme Manager Health in other duties as
assigned.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Support
in Project initiation stages – participate in Project Set Up and Project
Planning – participate in defining/reviewing the project governance structure;
launch of the project and define key communication mechanisms with the
different stakeholders. Develop a comprehensive and detailed implementation
plan and review on regular basis to reflect the changing context of the
project.
  • Supporting capacity building- coordinating with different project to
    support in organizing project trainings.
  • Coordinating health studies and management responses – work with MER
    department to coordinate all the health studies including SPAD
    evaluations.
  • Budget and output monitoring – Following up on budgets and output
    performance of all health projects.
  • Supporting documentation of health project activities- work closely
    with PCs and PMs to ensure all health documentations are integrated and
    ensure timely and quality reports. Will also be responsible in monitoring
    the updates of health information in the data base.
  • Organising Health review meetings – organise health review meetings
    and follow up of action plans.
  • Support in Standardising of data collection tools – this will be
    done according to the indicators of the new projects and MOH tools.
Key Result Areas:
The Health
Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
  • Prepare comprehensive work plan for health CP and submits it to
    National Programme Manager Health.
  • Support in the preparation of the startup workshop and project
    closures
  • Review TORs for different health project trainings and supervises
    trainings
  • Support in supervising different health projects trainings
  • Support Project studies and participate in evaluating the study
    applications.
  • Coordinating evaluation of SPADS.
  • Support monthly budget and output monitoring of all health
    activities and reports to NPM Health.
  • Support and Organise quarterly health program review meetings
  • Spear head proper documentation of all health project activities
    including most significant stories and preparation of news bulletin
    stories.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Plan International Health Coordinator job
    placement must hold a degree in Social work and social administration,
    Nursing or Public Health.
  • Post-graduate training in Public Health or Project Management is of
    added advantage.
  • Additional in-service training in the areas of HIV/AIDS/PMTCT, ASRHR
    Safe motherhood and Child health is required.
  • A minimum of two years of hands-on experience implementing
    donor-funded Community Health projects, Hands-on experience of working in
    humanitarian or hard-to- reach areas, especially West Nile is added
    advantage.
  • Practical knowledge and skills in designing, planning, implementing
    and monitoring of facility and community-based health programs for ASRH,
    MCH and Nutrition.
  • Practical experience in working with district and community health
    systems including Village Health Teams (VHT).
  • Skills
  • Excellent budget management skills is a MUST
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office programs including MS
    Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point.
  • Strong skills in teamwork and networking.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent skills in documentation and report writing
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills in multi-cultural
    contexts
