About UHSC Project:
Uganda Health Supply
Chain (UHSC) a project under MSH is a five year program ending in September
2019. UHSC’s main focus is supporting the Government of Uganda’s health system
to improve the availability and accessibility of essential medicines and health
supplies (EMHS).
Job Summary:  The Intern – National Malaria Control Program will
perform a range of critical functions aimed at ensuring availability of malaria
commodities at central and facility level. The intern will support NMCP in
compiling supply chain information and reporting requirements to enable the
program make informed decisions related to supply chain management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Support Updating Malaria commodity stock data i.e. shipments,
    consumption, stock on hand in pipeline
  • Support preparation of monthly malaria commodity update reports to
    be shared with the program and stakeholders
  • Support preparation of supply chain management updates to inform
    preparations of the program weekly & quarterly bulletins
  • Support extraction of data on commodity consumption, malaria cases,
    malaria testing from the DHIS 2 systems to enable comparative analysis of
    cases vs consumption to inform commodity accountability
  • Support monthly engagements with the district health teams &
    Implementing partners to follow up on commodity redistribution
  • Support collection, collation and analysis of data for the ACT &
    Artesunate study and the EUV survey
  • Participate in quarterly supply plan review meetings and support
    revisions to the supply plans for both Public and PNFP sectors
  • Support close out activities for the Universal coverage campaign
    (UCC) and Refugee net distribution campaign including but not limited to;
    Reconciliation of net balances, preparing allocation lists for identified
    beneficiaries, receipt and reconciliation of accountabilities among others
  • Reconcile NMS invoices following commodity distribution to support
    GF payment process
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time as
    need arises.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Management Sciences for Health (MSH) Intern –
    National Malaria Control Program job placement must hold a Degree in
    Pharmacy
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and
    shifting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated organizational, administrative, communications and
    reporting skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams
  • Strong English skills required
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Windows,
    Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
