Job Title:   Marketing Specialist

About US:
MADFA Co-operative Savings and Credit Society
Limited SACCO works in partnership with Masindi District Farmers’ Association
and Masindi warehouse to facilitate over 12,000 small holder farmers to
increase production and productivity of maize grain and seed, add value to the
produce, and link the farmers to optimum markets. MADFA SACCO received funding
from Agricultural Business Initiative Trust to develop a warehouse receipt
discounting product to enable small holder farmers to bulk their produce at the
warehouse and sell collectively to remunerative markets.
Job Summary: The Marketing Specialist is an
agricultural sales and marketing staff who builds long-term relationships with
targeted customers, by developing a personalized marketing plan that fits their
needs and utilizes sound risk management strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1.
Risk Management:
·        
Utilize
marketing plan tool to generate break even costs to aid in marketing decisions.
·        
Conduct
fundamental and technical market analysis.
·        
Share
research and market opinions with management.
·        
Clearly
communicate strategies with the client in written and verbal form.
·        
Recognize
synergies with parent company and subsidiaries and cross-sell services
2.
Customer Relationships:
·        
Build
an strengthen long -term relationship with current client base
·        
Maintain
customer retention rate of 80% or greater
·        
Become
an integral part of your client’s operation
·        
Serve
as a focal contact person for client in regards to risk management strategies,
market data, etc
3.
Prospecting:
·        
Regular
analysis of grain markets in Uganda and the great lakes region
·        
Identify
targeted prospects
·        
In
charge of the development of Key Referral Centres
·        
Meet
established prospecting and customer goals
4.
Speaking Engagements:
·        
Present
market outlook meetings at banks, prospect meetings and industry conferences.
·        
Explanation
of our services at all speaking engagements
·        
The
incumbent must be willing to travel for client meetings.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Economics,
Business or related degree required.
·        
The
Marketing Specialist should have detailed working knowledge of commodity
markets and previous experience working with grain producers
·        
Demonstrated
ability to keep abreast of current market conditions and short and long-term
market trends.
·        
Demonstrated
ability to develop long-term client relationships
·        
Highly
self-motivated and Aggressive self-starter
·        
Demonstrated
ability to develop market knowledge and skills
·        
Ability
to work in a team environment
·        
Trustworthy
and ethical
·        
Creativity,
leadership, strategic thinking
·        
Excellent
communications skills
·        
Ability
to work on a commission based structure.
