Job Summary: The MTN
Foundation Portfolio Manager (Special Programs) – Contract will oversee and
co-ordinate all programmes and projects within the MTN Foundation that seek to
drive active brand application and strategic stakeholder partnership and ensure
that the Foundation  activities are
leveraged to validate MTN Uganda’s commitment to being a responsible Corporate
citizen.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:   
  • Develop
    and manage the MTN Foundation business plan and budgets for all the
    portfolio programmes.
  • Oversee
    the implementation of all projects from concept to final reporting on all
    the projects under portfolio.
  • Develop
    and propose Innovative, Impactful and Sustainable CSR initiatives
  • Manage
    the implementation of MTN Foundation and MTN Group CSR activities and
    projects and develop periodic reports thereof.
  • Manage
    the documentation and archiving of all CSR/Foundation material for
    the company through a centralised data base
  • Ensure
    publicity of MTN Uganda’s CSR and Foundation activities as per the
    approved strategy.
  • Drive
    the need for the Foundation to fulfil on CSR at the same time actively
    driving brand awareness and activation. 
  • Actively
    pursue corporate relations, influential relationships with internal and
    external partners that share the same ethos in the CSR and afford branding
    opportunities.
  • Project
    management and administrative support across the varied and
    deadline driven Foundation environment.
  • Stay
    abreast of the business changing needs and adopt a proactive approach to
    address them and ensure continuous improvement in all aspects of service
    delivery.
  • Understand
    internal stakeholder and customer needs and develop and ensure
    customer needs and requirements are satisfied through appropriate systems,
    processes and procedures.
  • Identify
    trends and patterns pertaining to customer requests and needs to
    continually improve all aspects of service delivery
  • Follow
    up and track implementation and compliance of Projects to the Foundation
    Policies and procedures.
  • Identify
    and assist in the management of all the risks identified as material to
    the reputation of the MTN Foundation programmes and the company.
  • Manage
    the flow of information material to the delivery on the projects.
  • Manage
    all the relationships with the suppliers, beneficiaries and staff in
    delivering on the special projects, offering administrative support to the
    Foundation team to meet the deliverables of the all projects
  • Ensure
    effective implementation of the integrated project management model and
    support sustainability reporting for MTN Group.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant for the MTN Foundation Portfolio
    Manager (Special Programs) – Contract must hold a three-year Degree/Diploma in Commerce
    (Marketing/ Communication) or related
  • Additional
    qualification in PR or project management will be added advantage
  • A
    minimum of five years’ experience in project related work 
  • Previous
    experience working with or in NGO environments is desirable
  • Executes
    tactical plans to achieve strategic requirements
  • Has
    the mental agility to identify and solve relevant business challenges
  • Executes
    and identifies opportunities for commercial innovation and continuous
    improvement
  • Role

  • The
