affected by armed conflict. Since 2004, War Child Holland has been working in
Uganda and currently operates in Acholi and Holland Lango.
Job Summary: The Finance
Officer is primarily responsible for an accurate, complete and timely
bookkeeping of the Kampala office including petty cash handling. He/she should
ensure adherence to finance and procurement policies at all times. The position
will have responsibilities related to HR administration. The job demands
rigorous and careful attention to routine systems and procedures and complete
integrity.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
Finance:
  • Responsible for daily accurate, complete
    and timely bookkeeping of Kampala office;
  • Tasked with processing cash and bank
    transactions;
  • Responsible for keeping overview of
    advances and ensuring timely clearance;
  • Responsible for payment overviews (e.g.
    rental contracts, insurances, communications) and ensures timely follow
    up;
  • Responsible for scanning and filing of
    finance documentation;
  • Ensuring all the above is done in line
    with financial and procurement policies of WCH.
HR Administration:
  • Responsible for tracking staff leave;
  • Provides support in filling, scanning and
    photocopying of documents.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the War Child
    Holland Finance Officer job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, or any other
    related field;
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in
    Finance;
  • Previous experience in Excel and
    bookkeeping software;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
    skills plus problem solving skills;
  • Accurate and punctual;
  • Good planning and organizational skills;
  • Good team player.
