Job Title: Transport Manager
Reports To: Operations Manager
Organisation: Total Uganda Limited
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Ensure annual Key Performance Indicators are set for the Transport section and progress monitored regularly.
· Ensure a program for Truck vetting is prepared and implemented.
· Negotiate for Mass and local Transport rates and number of trucks.
· Participate in preparation of Annual Budget for the Company as it concerns Transport.
· Ensure up to date records are kept on all Drivers and properly filed.
· Ensure Trucks are adequately maintained.
· Ensure a program for Health Safety Environment and Operational Audits of all Transporters (Mass & Local) are put in place and implemented.
· Ensure continuous training of drivers with adequate record keeping.
· Ensure daily, weekly and monthly Transport section reports are prepared.
· Ensure safe to load is implemented and monitored for both Mass and local trucks.
· Ensure OBC verified violations are effectively and comprehensively monitored.
· Completion of the Total Uganda Limited Drivers Manual.
· Update of Standard Operating Procedures for Drivers.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Industrial studies or any other technical qualification.
· Exposure of about 10 years in maintenance of equipment, Project Management, Depot operations, Safety Procedures will be an advantage.
· Proven integrity
· Good analytical skills
· Autonomy. Ability to work under pressure.
· Basic computer skills (Excel). Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
· Excellent communication skills
· Understanding of basic financial principles (budget, cost analysis, revenue optimization)
