Job Title: Sub Unit Manager (02 Vacancies)

We help them fulfill their potential. In 2010, we reached more than 100 million children around the world. Save the Children seeks to fill the following vacant positions and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Persons.
Job Purpose:
  • The Unit Manager will take the lead in developing and managing the sub office, staff, operations, program activities and will be responsible for achievement of program goals and objectives for reporting on program implementation and outcomes.
  • In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for working with the Extended Senior Leadership Team in developing the unit strategy/model, increasing staff capacity to deliver high quality program, and advocacy at district level.
  • This will include overseeing effective implementation of planned objectives, the provision of technical guidance to on-going activities, fundraising efforts and proposal development and representation of the country strategy to external stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of a Degree in Humanities or a relevant discipline. Graduate or postgraduate training in Education, project planning & management, monitoring and evaluation, community development & research or related field is an added advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience with at least 3 years at management level in an international NGO.
  • Experience Development programming
  • Thorough understanding and demonstrated commitment to child rights issues, and the direct link between children’s rights and laws and policies of government.
  • Demonstrable financial, planning and budget management skills a MUST.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching
  • Excellent time management and planning capacity
  • Excellent planning, coordination and reporting skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
  • Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
  • Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
