Job Summary:  WHO is looking for five (5) Supply Chain Pharmacists to support the management of Health commodities in the Ebola Treatment Units

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • He/She will take overall responsibility of supply chain activities for the EDUs
  • Liaise with the pillars at the district/facility level to coordinate orders, and with the LSC to flag important gaps for Health commodities .
  • Support the adoption and use of the relevant Logistics Management Information Systems for Ministry of Health including the eELMIS, RxSolution and DHIS2
  • Assess general capacity gaps that could inform longer-term deployment or capacity building by the National Logistic Subcommittee
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate stock management principles, procedures, and documentation in the Ebola Treatment centers
  • Support the needs assessment, quantification, ordering and reporting for all essential medicines and health supplies used in the management of Ebola.
  • Collaborate with the district/referral hospital stores staff to receive, store and manage inventory related to the EVD response.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the World Health Organisation (WHO) Supply Chain Pharmacist job must hold a degree in Pharmacy from a reputable institution.
  • Desirable: Additional qualification in Supply Chain management, MPH, Economics from any relevant institution is an added advantage.
  • Essential: Minimum of one year working in response to Public Health Emergency in the Ugandan setting.
  • At least one year of work experience in pharmaceutical management including logistics systems design, supply chain management, and/or logistics.
  • Desirable: Experiences of working with multi-sectorial stakeholders in the Uganda public Health setting an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of Pharmaceutical Supply Chain practices and procedures.
  • Should have strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Language: fluent in English.
