About BRAC UGANDA, Scholarship Program:
The MasterCard Foundation
Scholars Programme at BRAC aims at providing talented yet economically
marginalized young people; next-generation leaders who are committed to giving
back, with access to quality Secondary education, and deliver holistic
financial, emotional and academic support throughout their secondary education.
In Uganda, this eight year programme now in its fifth year is supporting 5000
young Ugandans to access and complete their Secondary education. A total of
1100 UACE Scholars have graduated from the programme over the last three years
and have been supported to transition into further education. The programme is
being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports in
105 Schools across the Country.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: :
  • Managing
    the enrichment and giveback activities of the Programme.
  • Supporting
    the establishment of a strong and vibrant alumni network of the programme
    anchored on “an alumnus led approach”.
  • Supporting
    the Alumni in formulation and implementation of the giveback projects plus
    monitoring these projects.
  • Reporting
    and analyzing the various programme initiatives.
  • Managing
    programme implementation as per the agreement with MasterCard Foundation.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Manager, Enrichment, Giveback and Alumni Network (MEGAN) must hold a Master’s
    Degree in Social Sciences or Education.
  • Five
    years of related work experience in coaching and mentoring young people.
  • Previous
    experience of working in the education sector, specifically in secondary
    education and/or working with young people.
  • Previous
    knowledge and experience of working with development agencies shall be an
    added advantage.
  • Experience
    of working in a multicultural environment.
  • Good
    team player with motivating attitude.
  • Excellent
    interpersonal skills. .
  • Excellent
    command of English language both written and oral.
