ASIGMA is a group of three subsidiaries – Advisory, Data, and Capital that leverages data and technology to add value to organisations. Its Advisory arm offers investment advice, develops investable business cases, and provides Private Sector support and Technical Assistance; some of our development clients include USAID, DFID, AfDB, and WBG IFC. Its Capital arm is currently managing projects in alternative investments (Private Equity, Real Estate, and Energy) that include Manufacturing and Shallow Geothermal Exploration, among others. Lastly, its Data arm aids the Advisory and Capital arms through digital data capture and analytics, market research, and insights to allow for actionable decision making but also provides project and data management services to external clientele.

 

Job Summary:   The Strategic Communications Associate will manage and coordinate the delivery of the firm’s communications, marketing and campaign development, brand, and media strategy development as they continue to drive innovation, creative thinking, and alternative ways of delivering outcomes in line with the communication objectives as well as supporting the delivery of strategic plans for all business units.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing: Disseminate information about the brand.

  • Develop and implement external marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor media compliance and evaluate the impact of the campaigns.
  • Increase the firm’s brand awareness.
  • Develop and implement an Internal marketing campaign.

Public Relations: Enhance the image of the brand.

  • Develop and implement a Public Relations Strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong Media Relations.
  • Protect the brand from any PR crisis/manage any potential PR crisis.
  • Develop a crisis management plan.
  • Reach a wide base of Ugandans through different media sources.
  • Generate Advertising Value Equivalent for the firm.
  • Plan and manage Corporate Social Responsibly programs (CSR)

Digital: Grow the online customer base.

  • Grow and maintain a strong presence on all social media platforms.
  • Generate leads for the business.
  • Improve Customer experience.
  • Keep the Website relevant, up-to-date, and engaging.
  • Generate fans on all our social media platforms.

Events: Manage external brand events.

  • Plan and execute the launch of new projects, events and or programs.
  • Give a hand on internal events to execute brand visibility for the firm.

Branded Items: Manage Internal branding.

  • Conduct brand guideline training with all staff, consultants, and contractors.
  • Support all departments with branding items.
  • Develop marketing material process.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing or any related filed
  • BSc or MSc degree of Marketing Communication or related field is an added advantage.
  • Profession certification such as CIM, CIPR is an added advantage.
  • At least three years of experience providing strategic communication
  • Hands on experience in developing, managing, and implementing strategic communication programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and work under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Fluency with digital and social media tools and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills: The Strategic Communications Associate must have strong interpersonal skills and experience working cooperatively with other different teams of people.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: The strategic communications associate must have the ability to maintain organization and productivity in an ambiguous and often fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding and appreciation of brand and marketing concepts
  • Experience in PR management
  • Strategic thought in concept creation, messaging, utilization of design concepts
  • Creative thinking and wide exposure of good marketing practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and positive in attitude
  • Collaborative as well as independent manager
  • Agile, flexible and ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Hands on experience in prolific marketing campaigns
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Attention to detail.
