Job Summary:  The IT Business Applications Officer will support all the banking business systems and ensure that business cycles are performed in accordance with policies and operating procedures of the Bank.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of Core business systems eg Core Banking systems, Treasury System, e-channels Switch and associated plug in systems.
  • Management of Disaster recovery and business continuity of services under the function.
  • Testing, installing, managing and upgrading services under the function.
  • Ensuring that service requests and problems under the function are addressed timely in line with the SLA
  • Developing, documenting and improving the various processes and procedures for the systems under the function.
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly reporting on systems under management
  • Drive system monitoring, reporting and analytics for improved uptime.
  • Performing EOD/OEM/EOY activities in line with operating procedures
  • Manage customer facing e-channel systems including:
  • ATM system and ATM endpoints, Mobile Banking, Agent banking, Messaging Platform, Checkpoint,Swift, Payment Platforms (URA, utilities, School pay etc), Acquiring, E-channels switch and Internet Banking
  • Manage the interfaces between e-channel systems and Core Banking system.
  • Monitoring, Diagnosing, reporting and fixing system errors.
  • Work with system vendors in issue resolution and support
  • Collaborate core system enhancements to meet business needs.
  • Write code and scripts for applications, as well as installing, maintaining, and testing applications.
  • Provide user technical support.
  • Generate ideas for banking solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Financial Responsibility:
  • Optimise costs of the Bank through improving processes by Automation of services

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, IT or related field.
  • Certification in Oracle Database, SQL or Server Administration will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of one year of experience in supporting Core Banking systems especially Flexicube, Finnacle or any other market known Core Banking system.
  • Familiarity with programming environments.
  • Knowledge of service management platforms for call logging, actioning and retrieval.
  • Experience in Database and application scripting
  • Experience in application development.
  • At least one year experience in E-channels switch support and management.
  • Ability to work for long hours.
  • Experience in managing IT projects.
  • Troubleshooting skills
