Job Title: Accounts Officer

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Reports to:   Senior Accountant

 

About US:

The Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) was established by Allied Health Professionals Act Cap. 268 to regulate, supervise and control the training, practice and other related matters of Allied Health Professionals in Uganda.

 

Job Summary: To support capturing of financial data and performing routine  basic  accounting processes in accordance with the set standards and accounting procedures.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Staff trained, guided and their routine work supervised
  • Accounting records maintained, regular reports and financial information availed/ submitted to Senior Accountant for review.
  • Payments committed and prepared against verifiable accounting documents
  • Accurate reconciliation statement prepared.
  • Monthly statutory taxes and NSSF returns submitted to respective Authority
  • Train, Guide and routinely supervise subordinate staff
  • Maintain and regularly prepare up to date financial reports and information for the supervisor
  • Maintain an up to date commitment control system and prepare payments against verifiable accounting documents
  • Prepare accurate reconciliation of financial statements
  • Supervise preparation and filing of statutory returns





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must have either an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting option), or finance or level II of CPA or ACCA from a recognized Institution

or

  • A full professional Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD), awarded by the institute of Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) plus a post graduate diploma in financial Management from a recognized institution
  • Must have at least three (3) years relevant working experience with a reputable orga- nization.

Terms and Conditions: The successful applicant(s) will serve on A ONE-YEAR contract period contract renewable based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
