Job Summary:  The Procurement Officer is mainly responsible for the procurement function, which included supplier selection; supplier management; process performance management. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end supplier selection process
  • To develop excellent and effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and external providers Resolve supplier queries/problems and escalates where necessary
  • Compiles management information reports
  • Assess corporate procurement demands and identify appropriate supplier guided by the approved list of prequalified suppliers
  • Identify areas of cost saving procurement procedures
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to meet specific business requirements
  • Ensures material procured adheres to corporate branding governance
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to meet specific business needs
  • Assess procurement risks and reporting them and facilitating mitigations measures i.e. fraud, over pricing, quality noncompliance.
  • Continuously supporting the Uganda entities Finance Managers on all procurements.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and costing
  • Draft an appropriate service level agreement to properly evaluate the performance of suppliers, and report on this on a regular basis.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Responsible for order placement timing, supply / demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance
  • Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance, according to an appropriate Service Level Agreement, on a continuous basis
  • Develop sourcing strategies
  • Cost saving budgeting and targeting
  • Set and plan how to achieve supplier accreditation and service level management
  • Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management
  • To ensure all aspects of regulatory compliance are adhered to regarding the respective Procurement Policies and external requirements
  • Assist in facilitating contract and tender processes, review for accuracy and seek approval from appropriate authorities
  • Undertaking other duties not specifically stated which from time to time are necessary without altering the nature or level of responsibility





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelors Degree (B): Business Administration (Required)
