About US:

The Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) was set up by the Uganda Development Corporation Act 2016 as the investment arm of Government with the primary objective of facilitating industrial and economic development of the country. This objective is met through; establishment of subsidiary and associated companies, entering into public private partnerships with any commercial, industrial or agricultural undertaking or enterprises, assisting in financing and management of undertakings promoting industrial or economic development; and promoting and facilitating research into industrial development.


Job Summary:  The Administrator/Caretaker will provide administrative and support services at Lake Katwe Salt Project Site specifically site maintenance and security.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participating in the operational planning for maintenance and security of the project site.
  • Contribute to the budget preparation for maintenance and security at the site
  • Work in close liaison with Human Resource & Administration Manager, ensure that appropriate rental agreements for tenants in the UDC premises at the site are up-to-date
  • Liaising with the contracted security personnel of the area to ensure that the site, facilities are effectively guarded at all times; making spot checks; giving feedback as appropriate
  • Supervise the routine maintenance of the premises at the project site.
  • Manage petty cash for the project site
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on maintenance, rent collections and security of the site to the supervisor
  • Collection and banking of rent from the tenants
  • Complete URA E-processes of payments
  • Keep custody of all documents at the project site
  • Attend to visitors and prospective investors coming to the site
  • Any other duties that maybe assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold an Honours Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Social Sciences, Management or related fields
  • Post graduate diploma in administration/management is added advantage
  • Additional qualifications in Assets Management is an added advantage
  • Additional qualifications and experience in Estates management is an added advantage
  • Three years of working experience in similar or related position
  • Ability to work independently and leave upcountry
  • Ability to speak the local languages of the area
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Reliability
