Masaka Diocesan Medical Services Ltd is a registered company limited by guarantee and not having share capital. The Company has undertaken to be the Distributer of JMS in the Greater Masaka region, involved in storage and sale of products, including pharmaceuticals, medical and surgical sundries, equipment and instrument as well as laboratory supplies. Therefore MDMSL distributes pharmaceutical supplies exclusively from JMS assured of their quality, safety and availability at all times to her consumers. MDMSL supplies these products to Government health facilities, PNFPs, Private for Profit health facilities, NGOs and well as pharmacies and drug shops within Greater Masaka.

 

Job Summary:  The OVC Case Management officer will provide ongoing support to the District OVC project officer in case management by reporting the children who miss and need services and capture those who receive prevention services at high volume facilities. S/he will support District team with necessary effort to ensure high quality OVC service delivery, by primarily focusing on case management and referral networks and report on OVC comprehensive and preventative performance at the facilities.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • The case management officer will support high volume facilities to provide psychosocial services in the ART clinic
  • Ensuring that case management services delivered address the holistic needs of OVC and caregivers including health, nutrition, education protection, livelihoods, and psycho-social well-being.
  • He/she will conduct assessment and evaluation of OVC risks at the facility and refer them to other service providers
  • She/he will conduct meetings with clients and facilities
  • Assessing clients’ physical and mental wellness, needs, preferences and abilities and using theses to develop tailored care plans
  • Listening to clients’ concern and providing counselling
  • Recording clients’ progress including referral, home visit and other notable interaction
  • Evaluating clients progress periodically and making adjustments as needed to improve outcome
  • Supporting roll out updated guidance, standard operating procedures and other job-aids at the facility
  • Documenting lessons learned and best practices for experience sharing and replication
  • Advocate for clients’ health that may receive right care in their situation
  • Conduct referral network activities
  • Perform duties and other tasks assigned




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • He / she must hold a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, or any other related social sciences study field.
  • Three years of working experience in OVC or similar programming
  • Having worked with a similar USAID supported project is an added advantage.
