Job Summary: The
Basic Education Coordinator- is responsible for effectively and efficiently
planning, management and delivery of the Basic Education Program part of the
Sponsorship Programme portfolio within the Impact Area in ways that meet both
local and international Save the Children requirements and guidelines.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant for the Save the Children International Project Coordinator Basic
Education job placement must hold a bachelor’s Degree in Education preferably
in Teacher education is essential. Post graduate training in either education,
social work, development studies, project management etc will be of added
advantage.

·       
At least
five years of progressive working experience in planning and implementing
Education programmes with INGOs.

·       
Ability
to speak the local language fluently is a strong requirement. Ability to ride a
motorcycle (Honda XL 125).

·       
Experience
of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights
Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an
added advantage.

·       
Experience
of working with the Local Government and local partners with a focus on
improving service delivery within the schools.

·       
Strong
analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.

·       
Ability
to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively
as a member of a team.

·       
Willingness
to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous
conditions.

·       
Computer
literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.

·       
Availability
and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.

·       
Highly
developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international
environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

·       
Ability
to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
