About US:

East African Basic Foods Ltd is a food processing company
whose mission is to meet the nutritional needs of our customers in Uganda and
beyond with quality food products. The company was incorporated in 1997 and
since then, it has grown to a base of about 25 nutritious products processed from
several agricultural commodities including soya, maize, millet, wheat, oats,
cassava, and rice. The products are categorized to target babies, school going
children, young adults as well as adults.

Job Summary:  The Quality Assurance Supervisor will ensure
that the company meets best manufacturing practices through its entire
manufacturing process..

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Ensuring quality improvement and regulatory
compliance.

·       
Assembling key personnel for developing an
effective food safety plan

·       
Supervising and coaching the quality assurance
and food safety team.

·       
Developing prerequisite programs, e.g. training,
sanitation, recalls

·       
Describing products and their intended uses

·       
Conducting hazard analysis

·       
Reviewing and validating the food safety management
system

·       
Preparing and participating in audits

·       
Developing and maintaining a quality manual

·       
Collaborating with the product development team

·       
Developing and Managing recall plans

·       
Developing, training and implementing quality
assurance procedures.

·       
Liaising with regulatory agents and inspectors
to ensure that the plant is compliant with legislation and regulations.

·       
Developing production procedures, training
employees, documenting performance and supporting continuous improvement at all
times.

·       
Setting the goals/targets and overall budgets
for their work area

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Food Science/Technology, Chemistry, or related or equivalent field

·       
Two years of experience in the food processing industry

·       
Knowledge of HACCP and other food safety
regulations

·       
Strong communication, leadership and
organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with his/her
technical team and with all other

·       
Experience in creating, implementing,
maintaining, evaluating, enforcing and updating GMPs, HACCP, SSOP and SOP’s
programs.
