Berkeley Energy Uganda is a Ugandan
company that manages investments in the energy sector. Such investments include
Bugoye Hydro Ltd in Kasese, ARPE Ltd in Pader which is implementing the Achwa
HPP2 and HPP1 projects and Kikagati Power Company Ltd in Isingiro.
 The Company seeks to recruit a qualified Civil
Manager.

Position: Civil Manager (01)

Responsibilities:

·       
Harmonise
Project technical compliance with relevant local authorities.

·       
Inspect,
supervise and monitor EPC contractor/subcontractor quality and performance.

·       
Maintain
records of materials and equipment certifications, inspection reports.

·       
Supervise and
train civils team(s) of engineers and technicians.

·       
Sign
acceptance of the various completed civil works, processes and installations on
behalf of the Project Manager.

·       
Review
proposed materials, designs, manuals, schedules and work plans.

·       
Responsible
for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance of contractors and
the project for the Civils department generally.

·       
Liaise with
consultants, contractors, local, regional and state stakeholders.

·       
Initiate and
develop proposals to reduce overall project costs.

·       
Manage the
site civil department responsible for all design reviews.

·       
Oversee and
monitor the contractor’s performance on site and further assure the
contractor’s compliance with the design in accordance with the requirements of
the contract.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in Engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Professional Certification(s)
    from a recognized institution(s) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in
    supervision of hydropower construction.
  • Fluency in English (written and
    oral) is essential.
  • Registration as an Engineer is an
    added advantage.
