About US:

The Regional Health
integration to Enhance Services (RHITES)-North, Lango project is a Five-year
contract funded by USAID and implemented by a Team of partners with JSI as the
prime. The JSI team includes, Doctors with Africa CUAMM, AMREF Health Africa,
Another Option, and The Medical Concierge Group (TMCG). RHITES-N, Lango is
aimed at improving the use of integrated health services in the Lango
Sub-region of Northern Uganda’s, strengthening the health system to sustain
gains made by earlier projects, improving key population-based national health
indicators and building the capacity of the district local government to carry out
a sustainable and locally-driven response to the HIV epidemic, while also
improving TB, Malaria, Nutrition, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent
health (MNCAH), and water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) outcomes through
strengthening of existing structures and processes, improving access to and
strategic use of health and nutrition information, strengthening
community-health facility systems and expanding innovation through integrated
health and nutrition services.

Job Summary: The
Enrolled Nurse will provide quality nursing services to patients and
participate in implementing public health interventions in the community..

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Receiving, registering and preparing patients for diagnosis.
  • Providing quality nursing care and treatment to patients.
  • Observing and keeping proper records about the patients.
  • Participating in Doctors/Clinical Offi cers Ward rounds.
  • Participating in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the
    caring team.
  • Prepare patients for meals and participating in serving them.
  • Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the patients.
  • Supervising and appraising Nursing Assistants and support staff.
  • Sensitizing patients and their attendants about basic health care
    practices.
  • Compiling and submitting daily nursing care service activity
    reports.
  • Nursing service care to patients provided.
  • Prescribed treatment to the patients administered.
  • Ward/health unit activities implemented and Medical complications
    reported.
  • Patients’ record on admission, discharge and death kept.
  • Daily nursing care service activity reports written and submitted to
    the relevant authorities.
  • Nursing Assistants and support staff supervised and their
    performance appraised.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold an Enrolled Nursing Certificate or
    equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  • Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
  • Two years of experience in the same field
  • Experience in providing HIV / AIDS and TB prevention and care
    services
