Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participating in monitoring installed solar energy systems in order
to ensure quality and reliable technology; - Participating in setting up demonstration systems on solar
photovoltaic systems, solar water heater systems, concentrated solar
plants, solar cookers, solar driers and passive solar systems; - Conducting field research so as to establish the potential, demands,
and installed capacities of solar energy applications; - Conducting routine surveys of solar system components on the market,
their quality, prices and access
points; - Coordinating with private companies in order to obtain the number of
solar energy systems installed; - Identifying and mobilizing the stakeholders in the solar energy
business for easy monitoring and capacity building; - Providing technical support to institutions so as to ensure
sustainable and reliable uses of installed solar energy systems; - Developing and promoting adaptable solar driers suited to Uganda
climate for farmers; - Conducting technology transfer training for solar water heaters
systems, concentrated solar plants, solar cookers, solar driers and
passive solar systems. - Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor
of Science Degree in Engineering, or Physical Sciences from a recognized
University. - Ethics and integrity; interpersonal, communication and computer
skills; ability to adapt to multi cultural settings; effective
organizational and planning skills; time management skills; technical
skills; report writing skills; negotiation skills; capacity for teamwork;
innovation and concern for results, quality and standards. - Age: Below 21
years
