About SafiStation Study:
PATH is implementing
a program under the SafiStation observational study which will be conducted in
four phases. This include study preparations (April – June); device
installation and baseline interviews (Aug/Sept); device and site monitoring
(Sept-Nov); and study close out (Dec – Jan).
Job Summary:  The Research Assistant will act as the primary
liaison with study sites, leading study preparation, monitoring and data
collection, troubleshooting and device maintenance needs, and close out
activities.
 Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Works with the SafiStationTM project staff to identify, manage, and
    prepare required study and ethical approvals.
  • Coordinate arrival of SafiStation devices from customs and delivery
    to study sites
  • Attend a data collection training led by SafiStationTM project staff
  • With in-person support from technical team, install devices and
    train users on operation of the SafiStationTM in all study sites
  • Collect, clean, and submit baseline interview data from appropriate
    actors.
  • Submit supply receipts & tracking form every two weeks during
    study period.
  • Visit study sites every two weeks to collect, clean, and submit
    monitoring data.
  • Support device maintenance and repair issues for study sites.
  • In a timely manner communicates any barriers/challenges to Study
    Coordinator, Co-PI and PATH HQ team
  • Collect, clean, and submit end line interview data .
  • Coordinate the removal of the device from each study site.
  • Contribute to the data analysis and reporting as requested.
  • Schedule dissemination meeting with government actors and other
    stakeholders.
  • Maintain cordial and professional relationship with health facility
    administration, study staff and other staff, ensuring adequate
    participation and compliance to the study activities.
  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are followed by health workers
    as laid out during the training of users and generators of chlorine.
  • Support preparations and facilitation of field visits of key
    government (MOH) or other stakeholders to participating facilities, where
    necessary.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The PATH Research Assistant must hold a Bsc or Bachelor in Medicine
  • Experience should be between 6 months – 2 years
  • Good data collection, analytical and interpersonal skills.  
  • Good understanding of the government
    systems and public health facilities would be an added advantage.
