About US:
Uganda Women’s Effort to Save
Orphans (UWESO) is a national non-government organization which was founded in
1986 by Ugandan mothers committed to providing relief aid to needy children
left parentless by the civil turbulence of the mid-1980’s and the HIV/AIDS
pandemic.
About AROC Project:
With support from the United
Arab Emirates, UWESO is implementing the AROC project (Advancing Rights &
Opportunities for Vulnerable Children). The project aims at reducing vulnerability
among children who have limited access to education because of their socio
economic conditions partly caused by their migrant nature and refugee status.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure
    timely requisition of funds, make payments, documentation and proper
    accountability at the region.
  • The
    Assistant Accountant will ensure safety and regular repair and maintenance
    of the assets.
  • Prepare
    timely financial management reports of regional activities.
  • Mentor
    and line manages support staff.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant for the UWESO Assistant Accountant job placement must hold a Diploma
    in Accounting & Finance, Business Administration or its equivalent.
    Acquisition of CPA level one.
  • At
    least three years’ working experience in a similar post working with a
    reputable NGO.
  • Ability
    to use computer packages like Microsoft Office and accounting software
    applications like Navision, SUN and Quick books is an added advantage.
  • Numeric
    skills, team orientation, effective communication are required.
  • Must
    exhibit a high degree of integrity.
  • Adhere
    to child protection safe guarding policy
