Job Title:        Chief Exploration Manager
Organization: Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
About US:
The
Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) was established by Article 42 of the
Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013 and incorporated
under the Company’s Act 2012. It is a fully registered limited liability
company wholly owned by Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is;
To handle the State’s Commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry and
ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.
Job Summary: The Chief Exploration Manager will lead the Exploration
Department and take charge of general supervision of surface and subsurface
exploration, preparation and implementation of strategic plans and negotiations
for exploration licences.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Actively take part in the preparation and
    implementation of strategic business plans and goals for the company,
  • Responsible for development of oil and gas
    exploration projects including undertaking feasibility study and economic
    analyses.
  • Actively participate in negotiation
    agreements for licenses in liaison with other relevant institutions of
    Government.
  • Responsible for HSE Compliance in exploration
    activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold a
    Master’s Degree in Petroleum Geosciences, Exploration Geophysics or
    related discipline, and a Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
    from a recognized University would be an added advantage; ,
  • Ten or more years’ experience in petroleum
    exploration; five of which in a Senior managerial position.
  • Proven leadership and project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
