About BOU:
The Bank of
Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on
the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is
not a government Department.  Bank of
Uganda conducts all its activities in close association with the Ministry of
Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible
for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.
Job Summary:  The Administrative Assistant will support the
Division /Department/ Directorate in the provision of management and
administrative  and support services to
Bank executives (Governor, Deputy Governor, Executive Directors, Directors,
Division Heads) and all other officials as may be assigned from time to time.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Offers timely administrative and secretarial support
services in the assigned office.
·        
Receives and screens internal and external customers
and refers them to appropriate offices
·        
The incumbent will also be responsible for document
production (drafting, editing and proof reading reports and correspondences.
·        
Schedules appointments and manages the supervisor’s
diary.
·        
Manages incoming and outgoing correspondences.
·        
Cordially attends to internal and external customer
queries in a timely manner.
·        
Processes minutes of meetings and distribute them to
members.
·        
Organizes meetings, conferences and workshops.
·        
In charge of managing all incoming and outgoing
telephone calls.
·        
Manages office imprest and budgets.
·        
The incumbent maintains a clean and conducive work
environment.
·        
Maintains an efficient manual and electronic
departmental filing system.
·        
Manages and supervises the performance and routine
maintenance of office equipment.
·        
In charge of making requisitions for stationery and
other office consumables.  Makes routine
acquisition and distribution of stationery and other consumables in the
department.
·        
Offers secretarial relief services to any office in
the Bank whenever called upon.
·        
Mentors and supervises Office Attendants to ensure a
clean working environment.
·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of
Department/ Division / Directorate

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The Administrative Assistants must hold First Class
or Upper Second Honours Degrees in Secretarial Studies from an accredited
institution.
·        
Possession of a Master’s Degree or Post graduate
diploma is an added advantage.
·        
At least four years of relevant working experience
in the Public Service or relevant Financial Institution.
·        
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
·        
Advanced computer knowledge
·        
Working knowledge of desk-top publishing software is
an added advantage.
·        
Keen attention to detail
·        
Resourceful/multi-tasker
·        
Effective verbal and listening skills
·        
Excellent organisational skills
·        
A good team player
·        
Excellent communication, interpersonal and telephone
skills 
·        
High degree of maturity and confidentiality.
·        
Tact and diplomacy
·        
Good judgement and perception
·        
Age: Between 28- 35
years.
