About UBTEB:
Uganda Business and Technical
Examinations Board (UBTEB) is one of the national Examinations Boards in
Uganda. This is a professional Examinations Board with the mandate to
streamline, regulate, coordinate and conduct credible examinations and award
Certificates and Diplomas in the Business, Technical and Vocational
professions. The Board therefore conducts Business, Technical and Vocational
examinations, including Applied Science specialties such as Biological Sciences
(Agricultural, Fisheries, Wildlife, Forestry, Bee Keeping and other related
fields), Physical Sciences (Meteorology, Surveys and Land Management, and other
related fields), Cooperatives, Social Development, Hotel, Catering and Tourism.
UBTEB is committed to conduct quality applied knowledge and skills examinations
with an ultimate goal of enabling the students to access further upward
academic progressions and employment in the world of work.
Job Summary: The job
holder will plan, develop and manage the Manuscript function and the delivery
and awards of Examinations
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing
    delivery of examinations and related materials to authorized centres/
    stations;
  • Spearhead
    awards exercise and programmes;
  • Developing
    and managing delivery & awards programmes & related control
    systems;
  • Take
    lead in the recruitment & selection of personnel required to be
    involved in delivery, awards and marking examinations:
  • Provide
    statistical information for plans, policies and programmes related to
    delivery and awards;
  • Perform
    any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    candidate should hold a Masters degree in Applied Science or any other
    field examinable by the Board with an Honours degree in a relevant field
    of Education or in a field examinable by the Board.
  • A
    postgraduate qualification in Administration or related Management
    discipline is an added advantage.
  • At
    least five years experience, two of which should have been at a senior
    management position responsible for planning, developing and managing
    examinations.
  • A
    teaching qualification is also an added advantage
