Job Summary: The Head
Executive Banking is responsible for segment strategy formulation and
execution, customer value proposition (CVP) and customer experience. The jobholder
will be charged with ensuring segment profitability, Resource budgeting, sales
productivity performance, customer wallet share increase/ retention and market
share growth. The incumbent will also be responsible for segment score card
setting, budgeting and guidance on the segment staff performance management
framework. The jobholder will be responsible to ensure the CVP is executed
flawlessly by the branch network. The incumbent will maintain a high level of
integrity and ethical standards.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
Customer Service Management:
  • Ensure that the Customer Service
    principles set for Executive banking are maintained in the branch by the
    team.
  • Provide guidance to the EB team and
    support them to grow & Manage Portfolios of 650, Executive Customers
    about cross selling, managing the relationships, handling and resolving
    queries or complaints and maintaining a high standard of Service delivery
    for effective customer retention & portfolio profitability.
  • Ensure that customer complaints are
    monitored, trends and root causes identified and addressed at source to
    prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure that customer needs are anticipated
    and met through provision of appropriate products and services through the
    Executive Banking team.
  • Ensure that opportunities to migrate
    customers to more appropriate, cost-effective channels are identified and
    actioned.
  • Ensure efficient, customer- focused
    Telephone etiquette & behaviour.
  • On boarding experience monitoring on a
    monthly basis.
Sales Management:
  • Visibly support the branch in achieving
    the Executive banking Sales targets and Standards of Service by providing
    consistent direction and guidance to the team.Develop micro market sales
    plans to achieve responsive sales budgets/targets for the Team
  • Gain a sound understanding of the
    Executive banking Segments in the branch’s area of operation.
  • Keep up to date with changes and
    developments in the local market/area
  • Manage the sales tracking system including
    Leads and provide coaching and feedback to the team.
  • Coach the sales team on product knowledge
    and making the most of cross-selling opportunities
  • Make Sure that Overdrawn, Dormant accounts
    or Loans in arrears are managed daily through constant engagement with the
    affected Customer
  • Support the Branch Manager by providing
    weekly & monthly updates of the team’s performance and all Sales
    plans/tactics in place to achieve the set targets
  • Drive initiatives to accelerate sales
    growth.
  • Share routine market scans and
    opportunities/ leads for the teams to tap into
People Management:
  • Hold weekly team meetings to refresh the
    team on important & critical areas around performance, initiatives,
    behaviour, conduct, dress code, phone etiquette and drive motivation and
    effectiveness of the team through constant feedback & engagement.
  • Keenly monitor and manage the performance
    and development of the team to ensure sustained profitability, compliance
    with the Code of Banking Practice, internal controls and overall
    well-being of staff.
  • Maximize the potentials and ensure
    productivity of every staff within your team through regularly supporting
    them and engaging in performance discussions which should be documented to
    facilitate appraisals
  • Manage Reporting & information flow up
    or down within the team and make sure that reports are delivered within
    given deadlines and relevant information is shared appropriately with the
    Teams.
  • Manage the upward escalation Process
    within the team to ensure that all matters requiring support are given
    urgent attention.
Operational Effectiveness:
  • Responsible for the net profitability of
    the team.
  • Optimise and streamline existing systems,
    processes and controls for cost-effective service delivery.
  • Provide an effective administrative
    function for the team.
  • Ensure overall staff complement is in line
    with productivity measurements and that the Executive areas are clean and
    Exclusive.
Risk Management:
  • Assist the Branch manager to make sure
    that laid-down instructions are adhered to areas under control.
  • Ensure that the EB team work hand in hand
    with all the staff at the branch and are part & parcel of the branch
    Structure especially by participating in all branch activities.
  • Maintain a culture within the team that
    emphasises and demonstrates the importance of adhering to internal
    procedures & controls.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank
    Head Executive Banking career opportunity should have at least five years’
    banking experience.
  • High analytical skills.
  • Current knowledge and understanding of
    different industry sectors and sector risk profiles/trends.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of
    business and financial management principles.
  • A thorough knowledge of multi-level
    products and pricing structures available to Executive Banking customers.
  • Knowledge of competitor product offerings/channels/operational
    and marketing tactics.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management
    skills to create a co-operative and collaborative working environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of the banks products,
    services and Sales Standards.
  • Understanding of the regulatory
    environment governing financial services. Knowledge of local competitor
    tactics, distribution channels and product offerings.
  • Previous experience in managing a diverse
    range of people and activities are essential.
  • Practical knowledge on how to input,
    access, and utilize information from the network/systems to analyze and
    forecast trends.
