About Program:
Currently, Oxfam is implementing a humanitarian response to address the
humanitarian needs of South Sudanese refugees hosted in West Nile sub-region.
Oxfam’s areas of intervention include WASH, Emergency Food Security and
Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL), Gender and Protection. Oxfam works with local
partners as a strategy for building humanitarian preparedness and response
capacity within the organisations.
Job Summary: The Finance
Officer will be mainly be responsible for preparation of monthly project
financial reports; managing the project funds at the sub-office including
processing payments via petty cash and submission of approved payment requests
to the Finance and Operations Manager; undertake budget tracking, monitoring
expenditure, expenditure forecasting and reporting timely; ensure donor and
Government compliance aspects are met in financial recording and reporting;
consolidation of partner financial reports for use by the donor accountant in
preparation of donor financial reports; ensure that Oxfam financial management
and controls in relation to the project are in place and being followed by the
team; interface with HR and Logistics on various elements of financial systems
and processes related to the project activities and, support partner finance
teams in preparation of project related budgets and reworking of budgets in
keeping with changes in project plans.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Oxfam Finance Officer
    job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Previous exposure and experience
    preferably with a non-profit organization
