About Us:
Our client, a leading Health Supply
Chain Management Organisation that specialises in Logistics and Supply Chain
Management Services for pharmaceutical products and health commodities is
seeking to recruit for the following positions to support their projects:
Job Summary: The Senior Procurement
Officer will be charged with planning and monitoring the requirements, framework
and progress of procurement activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop
    accurate forecasts of needs and translate them into procurement plans and
    budgets.
  • Monitor
    and support implementation of the procurement plans.
  • Provide
    support the selection of products and ensure that they are in accordance
    with the relevant standards, guidelines and policies. This will require
    working very closely with the selection committee and other stakeholders.
  • Preparation
    of the bidding documents and support management with the tendering
    process.
  • Support
    in the implementation of negotiated contracting process with suppliers and
    contracting third party agents related to procurement of health
    commodities for the project in accordance with the approved procurement
    plan and budget.
  • Periodically
    support the periodic global supplier price surveys to benchmark against
    the existing supplier prices.
  • Ensure
    good storage and maintenance of procurement and disposal records.
  • Preparation
    of supplier contracts and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely
    delivery of goods.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Senior Procurement Officer should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
    or any other health or business related degree.
  • Part or
    full professional qualification in CIPS is an added advantage.
  • At least
    four to six years’ professional experience in procurement with a reputable
    firm
  • Working
    knowledge in NDA guidelines and procedures.
  • Good
    understanding of USFDA, World Bank, Global fund guidelines are an added
    advantage
  • Working
    Knowledge of procurement best practice
  • Possess
    the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent
    Negotiating skills.
  • Ability
    to handle flexible working hours
  • Good
    report writing skills
  • Excellent
    analytical and numeracy skills
