- Ensuring
good communication between network partners and the smooth running of the
administration, including adequate progress reporting, - Collaborate
with the ethics manager, two administrative assistants and the network
accountant, and to ensure adequate financial reporting from the different
network administrative departments in accordance with the Wellcome Trust’s
requirements, - Ensuring
the implementation of capacity building activities including organising
network meetings and training workshops and - Reporting
back any problem from the network partners to the management committee. - Liaise
effectively with network members, collaborators, funding bodies, external
institutes and the public

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct
and administer regular meetings with network partners, including minute
taking. Responsible for interacting and liaising with the Wellcome Trust
as the funder and for producing detailed periodic reports as required. - Co-ordinate
the training goals of the network. - Organize
the network annual meetings and workshops as appropriate. - Ensure
network partners comply with safety and ethical procedures (in partnership
with the ethics manager). - Prepare
a regular newsletter for network partners, maintain the network website
and answer enquiries to the network from the public and external bodies. - Support
public engagement activities on behalf of the network. - Work
effectively both independently and as part of a team. - Influence
others effectively at all organisational levels internally and externally - Provide
effective financial and operational management and advice for the network
and its scientists, liaising effectively with all the key stakeholders. - Liaise
with other external and internal scientists effectively to achieve the
objectives of the research programme and to take accountability of
effective management of the network’s research programme. - Take
a pro-active and innovative approach in identifying new and sustainable
funding opportunities.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- The
project manager will possess a Bachelors degree in any of the biological
science related fields - At
least two years experience in a similar position - Post
Graduate qualifications in project planning and management, human resource
management or public administration - Demonstrated
project management experience, skills, and knowledge - Ability
to communicate effectively to a high standard with a range of people and organizations
both orally and in writing. - Good
problem solving and organisation skills, with an ability to meet competing
deadlines. - Good
interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others - Ability
to manage and to support management of financial and operational resources
- Familiarity
with Wellcome Trust grant operations - Knowledge
of genetics or biology or having a background in biomedical research. - Ability
to speak and write in English and French
