Job Title: IT Officer
Duty Station: Kampala,
Uganda
Reports to: Logistics
Manager
About NGO:
Our Client, an international NGO operating in the countries of Uganda,
DRC, Sudan and Central African Republic is seeking to recruit for the following
national positions based in Kampala to support their projects.
Job Summary: The IT Officer will
be responsible for the overall optimal use of the IT Resources and systems of
the country offices and adherence to the IT policy so as to meet the
organizations goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conducting all IT operational needs
    assessment.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and
    networks.
  • Troubleshooting the system and solve
    hardware/ software faults that may arise.
  • Conducting routine system checks
  • Evaluate new technology and identify
    suitable contractors/vendors to supply technical equipment or services.
  • Maintain communication links with ISP
    technical staff and management
  • Taking staff through a series of actions
    on the use of IT resources
  • Ensure backup of all regional information
    to ensure availability in the occurrence of data loses. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in IT
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer proficiency Knowledge in use of
    microsoft platform,
  • Five or more years experience preferably
    in an NGO
  • Fluency in written and spoken French.
