About EUg:
Enterprise Uganda (EUg), in partnership with Youth Business
International (YBI) has received a grant from the Department for International
Development (DFID) of UK to support the Northern Uganda Youth Entrepreneurship
Programme (NUYEP). It is a 2 year project whose key objective is to improve the
livelihoods of 10,000 youth (aged 18-35) and their households in Northern
Uganda using a household empowerment approach that provides mindset change
training, business follow up, and personalised business support.
The project will target youth in the Greater North covering five
regions of Acholi, West Nile, Lango, Teso and Karamoja.

Job Summary: The Finance &
Administration Officer will provide finance administrative and procurement
management support to the Northern Uganda Youth Entrepreneurship Program
(NUYEP). His / she will be responsible for ensuring proper and effective
administration in the project, as well as effective management and
accountability for the financial and other resources provided in support of the
project.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Finance & Administration:
  • Establish financial management systems for
    the project;
  • Keep updated proper books of accounts;
  • Prepare annual and quarterly financial
    reports;
  • Prepare and post all financial transactions
    in Quick Books ;
2. Procurement:
  • Lead the procurement process.
  • Prepare documentations in full compliance
    with procurement guidelines and donor regulations.
  • Monitoring the funds procurement plan
    against the budget.
  • Manage all activities in the in the
    procurement cycle to enable timely execution.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should be a Ugandan who
    holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, business
    administration, AND completed at least level 2 professional qualifications
    in ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.
  • Five or more years experience in finance
    and procurement.
  • Computer literate with hands on experience
    in use of accounting packages, especially QuickBooks.
