Agency for Cooperation and Research in
Development (ACORD) is a Pan African Non-Government Organization working for
social justice and long term development in 18 countries in Africa. In Uganda,
ACORD has its activities in more than 20 districts.
Job Summary:
The Finance and Administration Manager will be responsible for the efficient
and effective management of financial and human resources ACORD in Uganda. S/he
will be responsible for providing information, technical support and advice to
the programme team in all Financial, HR and Administrative matters and ensure
compliance t HR and Financial policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Financial
    reporting to donors and the Secretariat
  • Budgeting and
    budget compliance
  • Establish and
    maintain sound financial and risk management practices
  • Ensure effective
    Human Resource management in accordance with organizational human resource
    procedures
  • Maintain strong
    internal control procedures to ensure security of organizational Assets.
  • Supervise a number
    of accounts and administration staff. 
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The job holder
    should possess a University degree in Commerce or Business Administration
    majoring in accounting or finance and a higher degree in related field or
    full professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.
  • At least five (5)
    years experience in Financial and HR management, 3 of which at a senior
    management level with an NGO.
  • Experience in
    using computerized accounting packages especially SUN System and
    Spreadsheets is essential.
  • Strong leadership,
    interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Willingness to
    travel to up-country areas where ACORD operates.
  • Ability to work
    well with a team, gender sensitivity and integrity are essential
    attributes
