Job Summary: The Deputy Vice
Chancellor (Academic Affairs) will lead in delivering quality academic
programmes and curricular as offered by the University
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Take leadership in developing new and
    relevant programmes in addition, continuously review existing programmes.
  • Work with the deans /directors; manage the
    portfolio of academic programmes offered by the University
  • Serve as the point of contact on academic
    related issues with University partners worldwide
  • Oversee the work of senior academic staff,
    ensuring efficient and professional service delivery that enables the
    University to attain and maintain high levels of academic excellence
  • Represent the University in important
    academic and governance assemblies, correctly offering an outlay of
    information that pertains to the academic affairs of the University
  • Deputize the Vice Chancellor as
    required  and  perform such other functions that may be
    delegated. 
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The Vice Chancellor should be a person of
    strong faith and integrity, a committed Christian, a Member of the
    Church of Uganda,  or of other congregation in the Anglican Communion
    of Churches which are in fellowship with the Church of Uganda;
  • A minimum of  five (5) years of administrative
    experience in higher education institution of learning as Head of
    Department and/or Dean/CEO in an academic environment
  • The applicant should hold a Doctor of
    Philosophy(PhD) degree from a recognized University
  • Excellent academic background including
    research and publications with at least three original research articles
    in peer reviewed journals where the applicant is the main or senior
    author.
  • At least five (5) years of teaching
    experience at University Level
  • Must possess managerial experience in
    academic affairs of at least eight years in a reputable university with
    demonstrated team leadership skills
  • High integrity and excellent public
    relations 
Age: 40- 55 years
