Job Summary: The Compliance and Reporting Specialist will provide leadership to the compliance and reporting team in ensuring that all field activities and grants reports are compliant to World Vision standards and donor requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1.      Compliance Role:
·         Lead regular follow ups and responses with Program Managers and Project Managers on issues of compliance highlighted in the detailed implementation plans, budgets, and donor regulations.
·         Facilitate the smooth start-up of new grants by working with Resource Acquisition team in clarifying goals, objective and activities outlines in the approved project
·         Support the end-of-project processes and ensure that they are complaint to specific donor requirements.
·         Participate in the review of proposals and provide technical advice on issues of compliance, monitoring and grant management.
2.     Reporting Role:
·         Lead compilation and fine tuning of professional reports and ensuring they are presented in a timely manner and meet donor / Support Office requirements.
·         Lead the review of grants reports and ensure that the reporting is aligned with the Child Wellbeing Targets.
·         Oversee the documentation and sharing of best practices and success stories to support offices, donors and National Office
·         Work with resource acquisition team, particularly providing the team feedback on innovation, best practices and challenges of different grants to inform future proposal writing.
3.     Integration Champion Role:
·         Facilitate programme integration of grants in the World Vision Uganda Regional and Programme Structures and provide guidance and support matrix reporting relationship of grants staff to compliance and reporting team.
·         Regular field visits to various project sites for the purpose of project compliance monitoring and ensuring that integration issues on compliance and reporting are being addressed.
·         Lead processes related to roll out of grants management and donor regulations training for Regional Operation Managers, Program Managers, sector and technical specialists.
4.     Donor Relations Role:
·         Maintain good communication with and represent WVU to Support Offices, Donors, key NGOs partners and Governmental Departments.
·         Lead and develop strategy for cultivating and strengthening existing donors, support offices and other stake holder relationships.
·         Participate in joint agency assessments, task-force teams and technical work groups together with respective specialist
5.     Program Management Role:
·         Provide day to day project management supervision for Kampala based grants staff (AIM, Innovation Fund-Malaria etc).
·         Manage, supervise and build capacity of staff of the compliance and reporting unit.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • University degree in management, development, or related field;
  • At least 4 years work experience in grant compliance and reporting
  • Cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity.
  • Must have a clear understanding of major donors’ perspectives, requirements and standards.
  • Good understanding and experience in project management
  • Demonstrated & proven analytical/problem-solving abilities.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
