Job
Summary:
The After Sales
manager will be responsible for ensuring the service and parts functions
achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and profitability while operating
within set policies and standards. The jobholder will also be responsible for
ensuring the After Sales function achieves budget objectives by continual
examination of accounts and operating controls to allow the necessary
improvements and corrective actions to be taken where variations occur.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain
    direct liaison with manufacturers, suppliers, statutory representatives
    and all other contacts
  • Ensure
    all workshop equipment is maintained in the right condition for accuracy
    of diagnosis as per the set company and manufacturer standards
  • Monitor
    the After Sales function’s financial performance including warranty claim
    submissions, requisite credits and outstanding debtors and taking
    requisite action
  • Provide
    vehicle appraisal reports as required by the sales function
  • Ensure
    the accurate invoicing and job costing in the service unit
  • Ensure
    all clerical functions within the After sales function are carried out in
    accordance with policies (warranty claims, customer follow-up, workshop
    loading, estimating, invoicing, daily operating controls, stock ordering
    and parts returns surcharges)
  • Administer
    warranty policy in the best interests of the company, manufacturer and
    customer
  • Participate
    in the formulation of marketing strategies that will increase business for
    the parts and service functions such as planning, initiating and promoting
    After Sales campaigns and promotional activities
  • In
    collaboration with the sales function, establishing systems and methods of
    ensuring all vehicle buyers/ owners are introduced to After Sales function
    and key personnel
  • Review
    all pricing policies, labour rates, fleet discounts, parts pricing and all
    other company policies
  • Monitor
    daily workshop productive performance to establish individual contribution
    by the technical staff
  • Work
    with the human resources department to select and appoint requisite
    apprentices in the workshops and engineering departments, and ensure that
    training standards are fully maintained to provide the company with future
    manpower requirements
  • In
    consultation with the human resources department, establish training
    needs, plan programmes and maintaining records of training
 Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • Possess
    an undergraduate degree in a technical or engineering field with a minimum
    of 10 years’ experience in a comparable environment, three of which must
    be at management level.
  • He/she
    should have skills, experience and knowledge of modern business methods
    and financial control including ability to proactively lead and control
    clerical work, administration, organisation, systems and financial
    matters.
