Job Title: WASH Specialist (Community Water Management)
Grade: NOC
Duty Station: Kampala
Type and Duration of Appointment: Fixed-Term Appointment (One year with possible extension)
Job Purpose:
· Under the guidance of the WASH Specialist (P4), the incumbent will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned programme/project(s) within the water, sanitation and hygiene programme.
· The incumbent will prepare programme documents and participate in preparation of sectoral work plan as required;
· Participate in intersectoral collaboration with other programmes and coordinate with national and international agencies covering the management of programmes; Provide technical support and capacity building to government authorities;
· Coordinate the supply and non-supply activities ensuring timely accountability.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· Advanced University Degree in Civil Engineering, Public Health/ Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Civil Engineering, or related technical field;
· Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme management, monitoring and evaluation, in a related field.
· Experience in participatory rural appraisal and community participation.
· Experience working in the private sector in WASH is an advantage.
· Fluency in English is required and strong written and verbal communications skill therein strongly desirable.
