Banking Jobs – Regional Supervisor at Centenary

Reports to: Regional Manager
Centenary Bank, the leading Commercial Microfinance Bank in Uganda seeks to recruit suitably qualified, experienced and competent persons in the following fields;
Job Summary: To monitor, implement and report on the overall internal controls and procedures in the branches, monitor compliance by branches and follow up reconciliation in line with operational bank policies and procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
·         Monitor the implementation of business growth strategies (lending and deposits) in the assigned Branches and make recommendations in line with the regional work plan and operational policies.
·         Monitor quality of loan portfolio (including written off loans) in assigned Branches and propose remedial actions and submit periodic reports in line with the regional work plan.
·         Follow up the closure of audit issues raised by both internal auditors and BOU supervisors and report to regional manager in line with bank policy.
·         Monitor credit and operations activities in the branch to identify risks and ensure compliance / adherence to the existing internal control processes, procedures and service standards as per bank policy and risk management guidelines.
·         Monitor assigned Branch suspense accounts and performance of inter- bank relations plus other financial institutions and follow-up reconciliation in line with operational policies and procedures and Memoranda of Understanding.
·         Monitor productivity of staff in assigned branches and make recommendations in line with the set productivity ratios, performances guidelines and bank policies.
·         Monitor the implementation of customer  service strategies in assigned branches and make reports in line with the banks customer service standards and strategy.
Qualifications, Skills& Experience:
·         An honours degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or any other relevant field.
·         Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position, or risk related certification is added advantage.
·         At least 3 years hands – on experience and skills in branch operations the bank at Assistant Manager, or head of credit of comparable head office level in a commercial bank.
·         Resourcefulness and high professionalism, integrity, with demonstrable
·         Organisational and planning skills.
·         Excellent people skills; good report writing and communication skills.
·         Readiness to travel within Uganda.
·         Willingness to take on emergency assignments at any of the branches /service centers as part of the training program.
